Triptii Dimri OUT of the Kartik Aaryan starrer Aashiqui 3 due to bold roles in the past?

Triptii Dimri is reportedly no longer part of the highly anticipated film Aashiqui 3, which stars Kartik Aaryan. Initially, she was set to reunite with her Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 co-star in this romantic saga, with the announcement made last year and even a muhurat shot filmed. However, news emerged on Tuesday indicating her exit from the project, leading to speculation about the reasons behind this decision.

Triptii Dimri isn’t the lead for Aashiqui 3- Report

According to a report from Mid-Day, Triptii Dimri was enthusiastic about leading Aashiqui 3 but has now stepped away due to ongoing title-related disputes that have caused the project to be postponed indefinitely. The source suggested that the delay in production influenced her decision to leave.

Conversely, another industry insider claims that the filmmakers chose not to proceed with Triptii after her initial look test. This source indicated that the role requires a certain innocence and purity in demeanour. The makers felt Triptii’s recent film choices did not align with. Following her performance in Animal, the perception of her image has shifted. It has led the makers to believe she no longer fits the character’s requirements for Aashiqui 3.

Despite the conflicting narratives, neither Triptii nor the film’s producers have issued an official statement. This has left the true circumstances surrounding her departure unclear. Some industry insiders suggest that the reality may be a blend of both accounts. Triptii was unwilling to wait for the project to move forward and the makers seeking a “fresher” face.

About Aashiqui 3

Originally, Aashiqui 3 was to be co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt. However, in March 2024, Bhushan Kumar announced he would be producing the film alone and renamed it Tu Aashiqui Hai. Reports from November indicated that Kartik Aaryan preferred to keep it within the Aashiqui franchise, contributing to the delays in production. The film is set to be directed by Anurag Basu.
